Bad Days Better

New Favorite Song on Shane and Shane’s new album…cry of my heart right now as well…

Bad Days Better
You have made my day
Even in stormy weather
I’m dancing in all the rain
Cause you make bad days…

Great is the way
When you come to mind
I am smiling ear to ear
Sweet thoughts of you
I’m always in the mood
To twirl around with you
While it’s raining
Even if it’s a dream

Great is the way
That I am unafraid
When I see you
All my fear goes away

Bad days are coming
Rainy days are always around
But if I can see you
One glance upon you
The sun comes out

I’m dancing in all the rain
Cause you make bad days better

Tuesday Lyric…For REAL

Thanks to the generosity of a friend, I have been loving every second of Kelly Clarkson’s new release, My December.

From Kelly’s Website: “Kelly describes “Irvine,” which she wrote in the bathroom of her dressing room while performing at the Irvine Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, as “the saddest song I’ve ever written.” “The song is a prayer from the lowest point in my life,” she says. “There comes a time when you feel like, if He’s up there, God, Allah or whatever you want to call Him, is the only one that can help me out. After that night, I know there’s someone or something out there looking out for me.”

Wherever you are in life right now, know that He is there.

“Irvine”

Are you there?
Are you watching me?
As I lie here on this floor
They say you feel what I do
They say you’re here every moment
Will you stay?
Stay ’till the darkness leaves
Stay here with me
I know you’re busy, I know I’m just one
But you might be the only one who sees me
The only one to save me

Why is it so hard?
Why can’t you just take me?
I don’t have much to go
Before I fade completely

Can you feel how cold I am?
Do you cry as I do?
Are you lonely up there all by yourself?
Like I have felt all my life
The only one to save mine

How are you so strong?
What’s it like to feel so free?
Your heart is really something
Your love, a complete mystery to me

Are you there watching me?
As I lie here on this floor
Do you cry, do you cry with me?
Cry with me tonight

Are you there?
Are you watching me?

Tuesday Lyric….A bit delayed…

Check tomorrow’s Entry about our Directions trip this week for full details of the reasoning behind this choice…Amsterdam by Coldplay…

Amsterdam

Come on, my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
If i, if I’d only waited
I’d not be stuck here in this hole
Come here my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
And I swear I waited and waited
I’ve got to get out of this hole

But time is on your side
Its on your side now
Not pushing you down and all around
It’s no cause for concern

Come on, oh my star is fading
And I see no chance of release
And I know I’m dead on the surface
But I am screaming underneath

And time is on your side
Its on your side now
Not pushing you down
And all around, no
It’s no cause for concern

Stuck on the end of this ball and chain
And I’m on my way back down again
Stood on a bridge, tied to the noose
Sick to the stomach
You can say what you mean
But it won’t change a thing
I’m sick of the secrets
Stood on the edge, tied to a noose
You came along and you cut me loose
You came along and you cut me loose
You came along and you cut me loose.

I Wish…

Under the gun, I know. I heard this song MULTIPLE times on the way back from ATL this weekend and decided on Sunday this would be my lyric. No, it’s not the greatest lyric (I promise, these are STEVIE’s lyrics and I didn’t do many of the things this says)…but just pay attention to the chorus.

Although I’m learning more and more that people sometimes are only in our life for a seasons and seasons MUST change, it’s nice to be back in the familiar, as I was this weekend–feeling I was back in college, wondering why those days must end.

PLEASE click on the link and enjoy a little Stevie today. You know you wanna groove at your desk…just do it.

I Wish–Stevie Wonder

Looking back on when I
Was a little nappy headed boy
Then my only worry
Was for Christmas what would be my toy
Even though we sometimes
Would not get a thing
We were happy with the
Joy the day would bring

Sneaking out the back door
To hang out with those hoodlum friends of mine
Greeted at the back door
With boy thought I told you not to go outside,
Tryin your best to bring the
Water to your eyes
Thinkin it might stop her
From woopin your behind

I wish those days could come back once more
Why did those days ev-er have to go
I wish those days could come back once more
Why did those days ev-er have to go
Cause I love them so

Brother says hes tellin
bout you playin doctor with that girl
Just don’t tell Ill give you
Anything you want in this whole wide world
Mama gives you money for Sunday school
You trade yours for candy after church is through

Smokin cigarettes and writing something nasty on the wall (you nasty boy)
Teacher sends you to the principals office down the wall
You grow up and learn that kinda thing ain’t right
But while you were doin it-it sure felt outta sight

I wish those days could come back once more
Why did those days ev-er have to go
I wish those days could come back once more
Why did those days ev-er have to go

Tuesday Lyric…cutting it close.

During our 7 hour layover in Detroit yesterday, our team watched “Dreamgirls” and if you are a fan of musical theater, you MUST SEE this film. Jennifer Hudson is amazing, as is Beyonce. This week’s lyric is from the show. Click on the link to hear Beyonce bust it out.

“Listen”

Listen to the song here in my heart
a melody I start but can’t complete

Listen to the sound from deep within
Its only beginning to find release

Ohh the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own, all ’cause you won’t listen

Listen
I am alone at a crossroads
I’m not at home in my own home
And I’ve tried and tried
To say whats on my mind
You should have known
Now I’m done believing you
You don’t know what I’m feeling
I’m more than what
You’ve made of me
I followed the voice, you gave to me
But now I’ve gotta find my own
You should have listened

There was someone here inside
Someone I thought had died
So long ago
Oh I’m screaming out
And my dreams will be heard
They will not be pushed Aside or turned
Into your own
All ’cause you won’t listen

Listen
I am alone at a crossroads
I’m not at home in my own home
And I’ve tried and tried
To say whats on my mind
You should have known
Now I’m done believing you
You don’t know what I’m feeling
I’m more than what
You’ve made of me
I followed the voice, you gave to me
But now I’ve gotta find my own
You should have listened

I don’t know where I belong
But I’ll be moving on
If you don’t, if you won’t

Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start, but I will complete

Now I am done believing you
You don’t know not what I am feeling
I’m more than what you’ve made of me
I followed the voice you think you gave to me

But now I got to find my own – my own

Saturday Lyric????

Well, it’s definitely not Tuesday, but you’re getting a lyric anyway since I’ll be leaving for New England tomorrow. I’m apart of a small team from Xroads going to assist with two church plants in Salem, NH and Boston, MA. I’m not gonna lie–I’M SO EXCITED….

Not sure what the internet connectivity will be, but if it’s good, I’m planning on updating the blog about our trip…stay tuned. 🙂

So, in light of the trip (and nothing more–don’t read too much into these lyrics), this week’s lyric is dedicated…

“Boston”

In the light of the sun, is there anyone? Oh it has begun…
Oh dear you look so lost, eyes are red and tears are shed,
This world you must’ve crossed… you said…

You don’t know me, you don’t even care, oh yeah,
She said
You don’t know me, and you don’t wear my chains… oh yeah,

Essential yet appealed, carry all your thoughts across
An open field,
When flowers gaze at you… they’re not the only ones who cry
When they see you
You said…

You don’t know me, you don’t even care, oh yeah,
She said
You don’t know me, and you don’t wear my chains… oh yeah,

She said I think I’ll go to Boston…
I think I’ll start a new life,
I think I’ll start it over, where no one knows my name,
I’ll get out of California, I’m tired of the weather,
I think I’ll get a lover and fly em out to Spain…
I think I’ll go to Boston,
I think that I’m just tired
I think I need a new town, to leave this all behind…
I think I need a sunrise, I’m tired of the sunset,
I hear it’s nice in the Summer, some snow would be nice… oh yeah,

You don’t know me, you don’t even care…

Boston… where no one knows my name… yeah
Where no one knows my name…
Where no one knows my name…
Yeah Boston…
Where no one knows my name.

Tuesday Lyric

It’s a late Tuesday lyric, but I made it and hope you thoroughly enjoy!!! Please click on the link for one of my favorite singers of all time’s (Eva Cassidy) cover of this Cindy Lauper classic!

True Colors

You with the sad eyes
Don’t be discouraged
Though I realize
It’s hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness there inside you
Makes you feel so small

But I see your true colors
Shining through
See your true colors
That’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow

Show me a smile then
And don’t be unhappy
Can’t remember
When I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you’ve taken all you can bear
You can call me up
Because you know I’ll be there

And I see your true colors
Shining through
See your true colors
That’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
Your true colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow

Oh oh oh I can’t remember
When I last saw you laugh
If this world makes you crazy
And you’ve taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I’ll be there

And I’ll see your true colors
Shining through
See your true colors
That’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
Your true colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow

I see your true colors
Shining through
See your true colors
That’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
Your true colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow

Oh oh oh

Tuedsay Lyric

Much of the following lyric is dedicated to a certain friend of mine…well, I guess you’re still a friend….

An angels smile is what you sell
You promise me heaven, then put me through hell
Chains of love got a hold on me
When passions a prison, you cant break free

You’re a loaded gun
Theres nowhere to run
No one can save me
The damage is done

Chorus:
Shot through the heart
And youre to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love a bad name

Paint your smile on your lips
Blood red nails on your fingertips
A school boys dream, you act so shy
Your very first kiss was your first kiss goodbye

Youre a loaded gun
Theres nowhere to run
No one can save me
The damage is done

Tuesday Lyric…

So, I am taking a friend’s lead by adding a weekly section to my blog. This will feature the lyrics to a great song that is currently have some affect on my life. Thanks Chrissy with your inspiring Haiku’s that have paved the way for these unoriginal posts.

The fullness of Your grace is here with me
The richness of Your beauty’s all I see
The brightness of Your glory has arrived
In Your presence God, I’m completely satisfied

Chorus:
For You I sing I dance
Rejoice in this divine romance
Lift my heart and my hands
To show my love, to show my love

A deep deep flood, an Ocean flows from You
Of deep deep love, yeah it’s filling up the room
Your innocent blood, has washed my guilty life
In Your presence God I’m completely satisfied
